Search Continues for Missing Teen Last Seen Getting Groceries From Deli

14-year-old Jashyah Moore was last seen October 14 after walking to a local deli to get groceries for her family. Her family is pleading for her return as the search continues.

Jashyah made a trip to Poppie’s Deli Store around 10 a.m. and returned home to her mother. Jashyah realized she had lost the card her family uses to buy groceries, and her mother asked her to retrace her steps to attempt to find it. That was the last time she was seen.

According to police, surveillance footage shows Jashyah entering the store with an older male who paid for her items. The footage does not appear to show them leaving the store together, police say. The man in the footage is cooperating fully with police, and there is no indication of foul play at this time.

Jashyah is 5-foot 5-inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. She was last seen wearing khaki pants, a black jacket, and black boots, according to an East Orange City Hall press release.

Jashyah’s mother described her as a homebody who loves playing video games and cooking. She is also best friends with her little brother, who she plays with constantly, she added.

East Orange Police, the FBI, and the New Jersey State Police are working in collaboration to help find Jashyah. They say if anyone sees her or knows of her whereabouts, to call the East Orange Police at 973.266.5041.
